All our fully-equipped converted labourers’ cottages have a fireplace, an outdoor braai and special touches to ensure a memorable stay. Upon arrival your cottage will be stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, eggs, rusks and lavender bags as well as a starter pack of wood. Visit our ‘winkel’ for any extra necessities.

Lavender cottage

Elevated on a small hill, the magnificent mountain views bring a new-found respect for nature, while the absence of electricity adds to the rustic experience. Paraffin lamps and candles add to the romantic atmosphere.

The cottage offers:

• Bedroom with a queen-size bed
• Kitchen with fireplace equipped with a wood stove for indoor heating and cooking
• Lounge/dining room
• Cutlery, crockery and linen
• Outside toilet

The stone patio surrounds the cottage giving you a 360 degree view of the beautiful valley and rolling mountains. Surrounded by this stunning scenery, the outdoor braai offers the perfect spot to prepare your meals. Take advantage of the outdoor bath where the enchanted night skies will wash your troubles away. Or take a shower while you look over an olive and herb orchard.

Marigold cottage

Just a stone’s throw away from Lavender Cottage, this two-roomed house offers:

• Bedroom with a queen-size bed
• Lounge with a large fireplace
• Stove for heating and cooking
• Cutlery, crockery and linen
• Outdoor toilet and shower

Privy to superb mountain views and clear Karoo skies, the absence of electricity seems purely natural. Paraffin lamps and candles provide the necessary lighting. The only available hot water would have been heated in the pipes from the summer sun.

Olive cottage

This quaint cottage offers:

• Single bedroom with two single beds, convertible to a king-size bed
• Kitchen with fireplace
• Fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and gas plates
• Cutlery, crockery and linen

• Bathroom with Victorian bath
• Shower and toilet

Although you are able to do all your cooking indoors, outdoor braai facilities are available to ensure a truly magical Karoo experience.
